Work with our Military and Military Veterans

Why are we not actively pursuing our active military and military veterans? Was Masonic Templarism not directly influenced by the styles and customs of the military, especially after the civil war? It could be argues that we were the first American Legion; we were there to provide camarderie and a place for those who longed for their old military days to return. Many of our troops are Christians and see themselves fighting for God and country. Are we not a militant Order of Chivalry? If there are military lodges then there should be many, many military commanderies, and Veteran affinity commanderies. We are missing out on a large untapped resource of veterans returning home and looking for some meaning in their lives. Why aren’t we giving it to them?
